DIY Whipped Shea Butter

By

Hey ya’ll ! So today I have a DIY recipe for Shea butter that will leave your skin and hair feeling super moisturized and healthy

What is Shea Butter ?

Shea butter is filled with Vitamin A and E along with essential fatty acids that have healing properties for the skin and hair. It reduces dryness, prevents split ends, and also helps increase shine and reduces frizz. Shea butter’s anti-inflammatory properties might also help reduce redness and scalp irritation by providing healing effects without clogging the pores.

5 Easy Steps to Make this Recipe !

What you’ll need: pot, bowl, shea butter (you can get this from any local beauty supply for $5-$6), any oil you want ! (jojoba oil, olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil)

Step 1: Make a makeshift double boiler on your stovetop. Fill the pot up to about halfway with water and then bring the water to a boil.

Step 2: While your water is coming to a boil, put shea butter and your favorite oils into a heat-safe bowl.

Step 3: Place the bowl over the boiling water and melt the sheabutter and the oils together. You can stir occasionally stir the mixture till it becomes a liquid.

Step 4: You want to take the bowl off the pot as soon as everything is melted together. Cover with plastic and leave it in the fridge for 1-2 hours.

Step 5: Take whisk or electric blender and whip the mixture to get that smooth fluffy consistency. After you whip the butter to a creamy consistency, you can add some essential oils for smell. Then finally, scoop your butter into a plastic bag or mason jar to seal it in and keep it fresh for everyday use.

Enjoy your new moisturizer !!!
